Your Anesthesia Options

At Oral Surgery Specialists of Oklahoma, we want to provide you with the most comfortable and anxiety-free surgical experience possible because we understand surgery can make some patients nervous. Comfort plays a large role in our treatment process.

Dr. Robert Bryan and Dr. Jeremy Goodson have extensive training and experience in anesthesia administration, which allows them to select the most appropriate technique for your care. This experience, combined with state-of-the-art surgical suites and monitoring systems, ensures your safety and often provides a more pleasant surgical experience. Our office in Oklahoma City, OK, offers superior local anesthesia techniques in addition to IV sedation, nitrous oxide sedation, and general anesthesia.

Types of Anesthesia

Typically, there are three types of anesthesia options for patients. Select an option below to learn more.

More About Anesthesia

General anesthesia may be necessary for more complex surgical cases, such as facial trauma surgery or corrective jaw surgery. Usually, this type of sedation is performed in a hospital setting. The effects of IV sedation and general anesthesia often results in a patient remaining sedated (drowsy) for 12–24 hours following the procedure.

All oral and maxillofacial surgeons are required to complete extensive hands-on surgical training to obtain their credentials and must earn the highest level of licensure possible for dental practitioners, making them the most qualified candidates to perform anesthesia in an office setting. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons, such as Drs. Bryan and Goodson, have obtained first-hand experience administering operating room anesthesia during their required hospital residency as well as their training in surgical facilities.

You can rest assured knowing that your surgeon is trained and highly qualified to administer the correct sedation for your oral surgery procedure and monitor you throughout treatment.
